 While most of the areas of DisneySea are steeped in tradition and
classical relationships with the world's oceans, Port Discovery looks to
the future. It could be thought of as DisneySea's Tomorrowland.
Port Discovery is compact in size, and houses only one major
attractions (StormRider). DisneySea designers did a good job of
combining form with function; Aquatopia is an attraction that's fun to watch, and a giant, spinning "wind
machine" sits perched atop the unique Discovery Gifts souvenir
stand, providing attention-grabbing focus to the center of the area.
While the look of Port Discovery leans toward the industrial, it does
have an strong air of fantasy about it, and adds its own brand of
variety to the Park. |
