MicroAdventure! is based on the hit movie, "Honey I Shrunk The
Kids." Once inside, you're given special "protective" glasses, and then
invited into a large theater to attend the "Inventor Of The Year" awards.
During the awards presentation one of the inventions goes berserk, and you
and the rest of the audience are "shrunk" to micro size.
The show is actually a 3-D movie, and the protective glasses are simply
glasses with polarized lenses which allow you to see the 3-D effects. Some
of the effects are incredible, as items from the show sometimes seem to
appear just inches from the front of your face. There are also some
"surprises" that occur during the show (I won't say what because I don't
want to spoil the surprise!). The show lasts a little less than 15
minutes.
MicroAdventure! is as popular as Space Mountain or any of the other
"E-ticket" attractions in the Park. The queue lines can sometimes be quite
long; so long that this area of Tomorrowland gets entirely jammed with
people and just walking around becomes nearly impossible. If you're going
to visit this attraction, do it either first thing in the morning or last
thing in the evening when lines in the Park are at their shortest (or take
advantage of the FastPass system).
MicroAdventure! at Tokyo Disneyland is nearly identical to the one at
Disneyland in California (which is called, "Honey I Shrunk The Audience"),
except for the dialog, which is in Japanese. There are phones in the back
of the theater with English-language translations. |
